Why does mindfulness increase your sense of happiness?
I have written in my earlier articles about the importance of mindfulness. I think mindfulness is good for every one and I dont´think it takes that much to practice it in your daily life.
Many people think perceive themselves as instable. May be they switch moods often and sometimes they say things they later regret. When it comes to teenagers, their swinging moods is connected with the frontal brain that takes care of impulse control, logical thinking, planning etc. That part has not matured in teenagers.
Meditation stimulates the production of serotonin, a transmittor substance that is connected to feelings of happiness. Mindfulness also improves the ability to take astep back and observe what happens at the same time as you think about what you do instead of just ”doing”. This aspect has also been connected to less violence in schools.
In sum this information shows that you can get more control of your life if you practice mindfulness. You can get more control at the same time as you fuel your brain with more serotonin!
