Strategies when you have anxiety and low self-esteem

When you have anxiety it can be difficult to know what you can do. Depending on the intensity of the anxiety you can sometimes feel paralyzed and everything you can think about is that you can´t stand having the anxiety. May be you don´t feel that intense anxiety but that it is bad enough that you want to work with it.
As I have written before, the psyche likes predictability and structure which itself is anxiety reducing. Therefore, if you have anxiety often, it is good that you find out what the anxiety is about and in what situations it gets activated. After that you might start to try to find out what part you can work with and what part you need to accept. Even in cases when you decide that you need to accept the anxiety it is better to know why you have the anxiety and approximately for how long it usually lasts. The time aspect is important since otherwise it is easy to panic because you get the feeling that the anxiety will never end.
